Day 68/365: Architecture Academy Module 10 Start

Today i started the last module of the Architecture Academy. In this module i create a log cabin. This is one of the most complex tutorial because of the huge variety of technique that is used here.

For the first two tutorial it is quite boring because of the repetition of the wood. In order to create an organic looking cabin it need to have different size and length. There are 3 times of wood, one normal, one mossy, and one cut wood. Most of the work in the modelling part is actually getting the whole thing to look natural and worn out. Like shifting the position of the wood and changing the size.

Once the modelling is finished the material is quite simple, it only take time to grasp because it’s the first time this type of material is used, Groups. Using groups to simplify the material build is really handy because if i want to change the moss it will be affected to every single one and i don’t need to modify each one individually.
